So, the trip to NC for the weekend went well. David's farewell talk went really well....and went 20 minutes over. But it was still a good talk.
Kenson's parents are freaking amazing; there are no words to describe them.
Classes start in the morning. I'm ready for them to start, but I'm not ready to get up for them. I also realized that the textbook I ordered for my Shakespeare class is the wrong book...no wonder it was only $23.
I'm gonna go take a shower now.

I don't wear my relationship status on my shirt.
So last night we had a dinner over at our apartment and invited lots of people. It went well. Everyone really liked the food I cooked, and it was a lot of fun. After everything was cleaned up people went home to change for the dance. The theme was "stoplight" and everyone flaunted their relationship status by wearing green if they're single, red if their taken, and yellow if it's complicated. I chose not to conform and wore the black and white patterned shirt with the turquoise tank top under it that I'd been wearing all day, and changed into pink shorts. I also added the turquoise and pink clip-in hair to my up-do.
Overall the dance was fun, and by the end of the night I was exhausted. I walked back to my apartment with Bryan and we had a nice chat. Did you know that "Slim the Overweight Cowboy" is turning four next month? It was four years ago that Bryan wrote that song, so he's going to have a birthday party for Slim. It should be pretty fun!
Today, Kenson, E-liz, and I leave for NC. We're staying at Kenson's parent's house tonight and then going to David's farewell in the morning. I'm attempting to crochet a tie for him, but it's not working out how I planned. We'll see how it goes...
That's all for now. My back hurts from the dance. I'm gonna take some ibuprofen and then take a hot shower.

All moved in...
Well I got everything moved into my apartment yesterday. It's fun. I think I'm going to really enjoy living here with E-liz. Of course, the world might implode with all the craziness that will ensue with the two of us under the same roof...but it's worth it. :P Now Ineed to just finish unpacking.

High speed internet coffee in rooms.
So we made it! We got in to BV later than expected...since we didn't leave until around 10:30 this morning and then we decided to go to a sit-down restaurant for dinner and the people took forever to bring the check.
Tomorrow morning I'll check into my apartment, but tonight we're in the motel at the bottom of the hill my apartment complex is on. The sign in the window said "High Speed Internet coffee in rooms."
I haven't heard back from Debra yet. She's supposed to be the one checking me in...and I called her a few times and left a message. I'll have to call her again in the morning.
I actually can't wait for the semester to start...weird.

Insomnia
...I can't sleep. And I keep having these weird, cool ideas for stories forming in my head. Maybe that's what I'll spend the time driving up to VA doing. While Dad drives, I'll write. While I'm driving, I'll listen to audio books.
I need to get to sleep, so I can get up in the morning and finish packing. We leave early Friday morning.

The Party's Over...almost.
What do you get when you take a hyperactive, curly-haired almost six-year-old girl, add nine other kids around the same age, with a heaping spoonful of pink and purple and Hannah Montana, add games and cake and ice cream, and presents?
...a headache.
But it was worth it...I think. My niece's birthday party was today. It was CRAZY! But thankfully it was less than two hours long. I like that; bring the kids in, play some games, have cake, open presents, open the pinata and they fill up candy bags, and then send them out the door with their party favors. I have also realized that I love parents that pick up their kids on time.
Tomorrow is the baby's birthday party, with just family and two families close to ours. More cake baking tonight. I can't wait to see him all excited and happy about cake and presents and friends. He actually has three other friends coming that are all around his same age. I'm excited to see all the babies playing together.
I have an appointment at the eye doctor Tuesday...I hope my glasses get in before I need to leave Friday morning.
Countdown: 6ish days (since we're leaving early Friday morning, it's really 5 full days...)

I can't believe I have a post that has a whole paragraph devoted to THAT series...
"The Big Bang Theory" is an amazing show. Thank you Anna for forcing me to watch that one episode that resulted in a season-long marathon! It's about geeky scientist guys that are also total gamers into fantasy and comic book stuff...I love it. They are total losers and I would totally date any one of them...well except for the character Howard...he's just creepy and gross.
In other news...I'm listening to the audio version of Twilight. Is it completely hypocritical of me to really enjoy the series, but still detest the majority of the people that like it? ...I didn't think so. I can't stand stupid fangirls...especially the teeny-bopper ones that are completely obsessed with these fictional characters, simply because they are "soooo hawt!" I enjoy the story because I have always enjoyed different interpretations of vampires, and the legends behind them. I also like that it is a book set in a modern time, yet it still is a fantasy. The main character annoys me, but I learned to enjoy her. The "hero" comes off as a little arrogant and annoying...but I still enjoy his tortured disposition. I adore the less prevalent characters that still have major roles, and I love the middle section of the last book that is from the point of view of one of the lead males. Overall, I really enjoy the series, and the actors portraying the roles in the movies (I hated the actual movie, though. I hold a little more hope for the second one, since the director was the co-writer and director of "About A Boy," one of my all-time favorite movies.), but the fans annoy me, and, frankly, kind of scare me.
Maybe later on I'll post some more about the series, or especially The Host, Stephenie Meyer's more adult sci-fi book that is not part of a series (which was written and edited SO much better than her vampire novels could ever hope to be), but I don't think that will be for a while.
Countdown until leaving: 8 days (although since it's very early in the morning, I guess you could say about 7 days).
...I hope I can get everything packed by then. Also...my computer is supposed to get here Saturday...hooray! I've been using Anna's computer tonight.

Some people infuriate me...but babies do the opposite.
I don't like to hate people. I don't even like to dislike people. So I stay away from the whole idea of tension between people and just get along with everyone...but there are just some people that infuriate me, and I can't explain why. Well, that's not true...I CAN explain why, but I feel like a complete jerk. Not that my irritation and dislike is not well-founded, and totally justified...I just feel like a jerk for disliking someone so much.
Total subject change: Babies are so adorable, especially my youngest nephew. He's 11 months old, but he's about the size of an average 5 or 6 month old. He's tiny and adorable and has really big blue eyes with long dark eyelashes. And he smiles at everything! I love putting him to bed cause he gets all snuggly and sings along with me to sing himself to sleep. He's the kind of baby that makes any woman around him want to be a mother.

So that was him typing. He woke up and I rocked him back to sleep, but then he sat up and started smiling...so I brought him downstairs.

...it needs to get here sooner.
